Question: No insurance, not getting help. Pelvic pain PCOS?
I’am 25 years old. I have PCOS. Also I have no medical insurance.
For the past week and a half I have been having really bad pelvic pain. It is in the area almost near the crease of my groin and thigh. A few days ago I noticed a hard lump. So I went to the ER. While at the visit they werent really focused on my pelvic issue because my blood pressure was so high. They treated the BP and gave me pain meds and told me to go to a county hospital with a specialist that would be better to see for the pelvic pain. But while i was there they did tell me that i had alot of blood in my urine sample and that could possibly be due to the fact that one of my ovarian cysts ruptured. So the following day i went to the county hospital. The first doctor that examined me said it could be fibroids since it does run in my family but he wanted a pelvic exam done on me. So after 3 hours of waiting i was seen by a different doctor. He talked to me for literally no more than 2 minutes and he just wanted me to take pain meds and muscle relaxers and wait for a referral for an ultra sound. He didnt want to do the pelvic exam or a catscan. He told me its a waste to do so on me. He thinks that its my nerve is irritated. He was very rude. I broke down crying and he told me i was rude and i refused service from him because of how he made me feel.
My question is now: since i have no insurance what do i do now? I’am scared because of the hard lump. I dont know what to do. Iam in so much pain. What should i do? Who should I see?

you can try to sign up for pcos studies at a university hospital. they are free, and require no insurance. i don’t know what state you live in, but try to go for the study at the best near you. the down side, is it can take a few months… i signed up for one at university of chicago, 14th best in country on the subject, but they could not get me in for the study/appointment until september.
