Question: Help! Passing blood clots, strange spotting, failing to conceive?
My best friend has been trying to conceive for 7 months now. Almost every time about 5 days before her period comes, she has strange spotting, and some mild cramps. Then when she gets her period, she passes huge clots. Could she be low on progesterone? According some med pages, women who start spotting more than a day or so before their period have low progesterone levels which causes their uterine lining to break down prematurely, which affects the chances for implantation. Could she also have fibroid issues? Could she be miscarrying? Please any opinions are appreciated!

All of those things could be true. The only way for her to know is to go get a doctor to check under her hood (time for a gyno visit).
She might also want to see an endocrinologist to test her hormone levels. Sometimes, it’s as simple as taking more of a certain vitamin.
